*Hatha Yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (asanas) designed to align the muscles and bones and open the many energy channels of the body, especially the spine, so that energy can flow freely. A powerful tool for self-transformation, Hatha yoga requires that one pay special attention to the breath, which helps calm the fluctuations of the mind. This allows the practitioner to become more present in the unfolding of each moment, resulting in more awareness and relaxation.
Restorative Yoga is about slowing down and opening the body through passive stretching. During aa restorative class, there is minimal movement, doing just a few postures in the course of an hour. Your muscles begin to relax deeply as you hold poses for 2-5 minutes. Props are used to support your body instead of your muscles. Restorative classes are very mellow, and an excellent antidote to stress.

What They’re Saying:
" Comfort, Peace, Tranquility, Flexible, Pampering, Love, Community...These are words that a come to mind when I think go Emerge. These words also describe how I've felt when visiting the Studio. It's like walking into a space where the possibilities are boundless. I've stretched and strengthened in Yoga and walked away feeling flexible. I've moved, grooved and laughed with friends during line dancing. I've created and spent time with relatives and bestie while Sipping and Painting and I've felt loved and valued when pampered with a foot bath. I don't have to go far to step into a space of comfort and emerge with a spirit filled with peace and tranquility right in my own community.
